Today, we spotlight our MoU partner: Mercatura

We were honored to have H.E. Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority FRA, witness the signing of the MoU.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Ahmed Khalifa — Executive Director of the FRA Sandbox and Chief Data Officer — and Mr. Kareem Younes, Chief Executive of Mercatura.

🔹 Mercatura is a Web3-focused venture studio based in Cairo, with strategic presence in Switzerland and Dubai. It focuses on distributed systems in finance and edge AI applications, and holds equity in several of Egypt’s most promising Web3 tech startups. The Mercatura Building in Cairo hosts the only Layer 1 Web3 protocol operating in Egypt.

Mercatura also provides grants and early-stage investments to Web3 startups building compliant and scalable real-world solutions.

Together, we aim to:

✔️ Provide grants and early-stage funding to Web3 startups
✔️ Deliver technical support and regulatory consultations
✔️ Build a more inclusive, developer-first fintech ecosystem

‎لقد كان من دواعي فخرنا أن يشهد معالي الدكتور محمد فريد، رئيس الهيئة العامة للرقابة المالية، توقيع مذكرة التفاهم.

‎وقد وقّع مذكرة التفاهم كل من:

‎المهندس أحمد خليفة — المدير التنفيذي لبيئة الاختبار التنظيمية في الهيئة العامة للرقابة المالية والرئيس التنفيذي للبيانات،

‎والأستاذ كريم يونس، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة Mercatura.

🔹 Mercatura هي استوديو مشاريع يركّز على تقنيات الويب 3 (Web3)، ويقع مقرها في القاهرة، مع تواجد استراتيجي في سويسرا ودبي. تركز Mercatura على الأنظمة الموزعة في القطاع المالي وتطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي الطرفي، وتمتلك حصصًا في عدد من أبرز شركات التكنولوجيا الناشئة في مجال Web3 في مصر. ويُعد مبنى Mercatura في القاهرة المقر الوحيد لبروتوكول Web3 من الطبقة الأولى (Layer 1) العامل في مصر.

‎كما تقدّم Mercatura منحًا واستثمارات في المراحل المبكرة للشركات الناشئة التي تعمل على حلول Web3 متوافقة وقابلة للتوسع في العالم الحقيقي.
